Every year the L'viv school of artistic glass discovers new range of the young creative persons for the world, most of them form the core of the academic artistic education. We can say that Petro Romanchuk also belongs to that young and perspective artists. He is the student of the L'viv Academy of Art and his works show us the modern trends of development in the L'viv blown glass.

The biography of young artist is not rich in different loud occasions or psychological feelings. He was born in L'viv in the 1st of October 1975 in the family of employees. Since childhood he was fond of art and that is why he entered the famous school of professional art the L'viv Institute of Applied Art named after Ivan Trush. Studying at one of the most popular faculties (artistic painting) during 5 years, he has got huge skills in application of different technique and technologies of painting, learned tempera painting, oil-painting, water-color painting, encaustic, stained glass panel. The logical consummation of his first creative progress was entering the faculty of artistic glass of the L'viv Academy of Art in 1996. The leading L'viv artists such as A. Bokotey, O. Zvir, R. Vasyltsiv and others were his guides in the acquaintance with blown glass. Thanks to the professional artistic studies, Petro Romanchuk thinks that blown glass expresses the most fully the formal-plastic qualities of glass.

The active training and creative work were reflected in the participation in the students exhibitions and conferences during his studies. In 1998 Petro Romanchuk the young student took the participation in the 4th International Blown Glass Symposium in L'viv; in different students exhibitions during 1998 2000 years.

Nowadays Petro Romanchuk is already formed young artist with his own world out-looking principles and unique creative manner. The range of his works is quite wide. At first we should stress that he uses different materials and technique in his creation: a water-color painting, black-and-white art, stained glass panel, blown glass, sometimes combining them with metal. Such scopes make the young artist have considerable professional knowledge and skills.

The subjects of Romanchuks works is diverse too the lyrical portrait, still life or abstract landscape, however it has the common aspect the feeling of color and art. The color of his works is the dominant of creative intention. Somewhere the author digresses from the realistic interpretation of one or another theme, but due to the free expressive artistic means he gets the maximum result. The author demonstrates a considerable feeling of harmony of line, tone and color even in his works of decorative art: window and door stained glass panels.

In general the creative work of Petro Romanchuk builds on the principles of wealthy traditions of the L'viv school of glassware and perceptibly carries new tendencies in the field of development of the modern Ukrainian art.
